• Stage 1 load-shedding kicks in from 05:00 to 16:00 on Friday. “Due to the anticipated planned maintenance to address minor generation defects,” explains the state-owned enterprise.

• Eskom has offered some daytime reprieves recently. For instance, Tuesday saw a suspension between midnight to 05:00, and again from 09:00 to 16:00.
• Wednesday followed suit, halting load-shedding from midnight to 16:00.
• Today also gave some respite with a break starting at 02:30 till 16:00.

Note: Eskom pledges an update soon on the load-shedding outlook for the extended weekend. As of this morning, breakdowns were reported at 13,501MW.
