Eskom Modifies Load Shedding Schedule Amid Chilly Weather

Amidst increasingly cold weather conditions, Eskom, South Africa’s power provider, has announced modifications to its load shedding schedule. The planned power outages during daylight hours will be relaxed to stage 1 starting from Wednesday, although stage 4 restrictions will persist during evening peak hours.

From 05:00 until 16:00 on Wednesday, August 2, load shedding will be reduced to stage 1. The high-demand evening hours, however, will see a return to stage 4 load shedding until 05:00 on Thursday. This schedule is set to repeat indefinitely.

Eskom emphasized the importance of managing electricity demand to avert more severe stages of load shedding. As the latest cold front sweeps across inland areas, South Africans are urged to conserve energy through the end of the week.
